SAVANNAH, Ga. – Young Savannah talent, Sarah Palmer, has recently written and recorded a new song and music video entitled “Fences.” It will be released on August 26. “Fences” will also be available at that time for download on iTunes.
Palmer started singing and performing at the age of four. Since the age of six, she has been in training with Julie Rose Wilde of The Wilde School of Music. Additionally, she makes regular trips to New York to attend The Broadway Arts Alliance workshops and train with such vocal experts as Jeannette LoVetri. Over the years, Palmer has performed with The Savannah Theater, for The Sand Gnats, has played leading roles in school musicals, and has been featured in numerous vocal showcases at The Black Box Theater, Tybee Post Theater, Brockington Hall and The Mansion on Forsyth Park. She has also performed with some of the top area professional jazz musicians and now, as a freshman at Savannah Country Day School, will be the vocalist with the SCDS Jazz Ensemble. Additionally, Palmer is scheduled to be a soloist this December at the Holiday Pops Concert alongside the Savannah Philharmonic and the Savannah Children’s Choir.
“We are so excited to finally show everyone what Sarah has been working on,” said Beth Stewart, Sarah’s mother. “We are really proud of her creativity and hard work and we can’t wait to showcase ‘Fences’ to our family, friends and the world!”
Palmer partnered with her vocal and piano teacher, singer/songwriter Julie Rose Wilde, and arranger/videographer William Austin Smith to make her first song and video come together. “Fences” was recorded at Dollhouse and Elevated Basement studios and engineered by Peter Mavrogeorgis and Kevin Rose. The recording features Sarah on vocals and piano, alongside talented musicians Samuel Cho on cello, Peter Mavrogeorgis on bass and Robert Sanders on percussion.
