🎉 Wawa Brings the Buzz to Pooler with Grand Opening Celebration

Pooler, GA — Wawa has officially landed in Chatham County, and Pooler was buzzing with excitement as the beloved convenience chain opened its doors at 1480 Pooler Parkway on Thursday, April 24. From free coffee to hoagie battles, the grand opening wasn’t just a ribbon-cutting—it was a community celebration.

Lines began forming well before the 8 a.m. opening, as eager customers vied to be among the first 100 guests to score a free “New Friends & New Flavors” t-shirt. Wawa’s newest Georgia location treated guests to samples of their latest flavor creations, including a zesty Dill Pickle Ranch sauce and a bold Crispy Pickle topping on their signature hoagies.

The energy amped up with a spirited Hoagies for Heroes competition, where local first responders went head-to-head in a sandwich-building showdown. True to Wawa’s mission of giving back, the company also announced a generous grant to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals during the event.

Mayor Karen Williams was on hand for the festivities, expressing her enthusiasm about Wawa’s arrival in the Pooler community. “Our residents want diversity in our local businesses, not just another gas station or fast food joint. Wawa brings something fresh, and we’re thrilled they chose Pooler.”

In a nod to local flavor and customer appreciation, Wawa is offering free hot coffee of any size through May 4, so there’s still time to swing by and sip on something special.

This Pooler location is Wawa’s fourth store in Georgia, but far from its last. The company plans to open six more locations statewide by the end of the year, aiming for more than 26 stores over the next five to eight years—bringing along approximately 900 new jobs for Georgians.

Open 24/7, the new Wawa offers fresh, made-to-order meals, specialty drinks, fuel services, and all the quick-convenience charm that fans of the brand have come to love.

As Pooler continues to grow, Wawa’s arrival marks more than a new place to grab a bite—it’s a symbol of the city’s momentum and a reminder that good things are always brewing in the Coastal Empire.
