The founder of Moon River Pool Care, Ion Bratianu, donates more than finances in a collaboration that has revitalized the club’s pool programs and expanded opportunities for the young people at the club. What began as a simple sponsorship for signage at the gym quickly evolved into a powerful example of local business positively impacting the community. When Executive Director of the Jenkins Athletic Club, Corey Jauden, asked Ion Bratianu to support the club’s mission to provide safe and accessible athletic facilities, the response was immediate.
“He did so no questions asked,” said Jauden. “Ion has adopted our pool as one of his own for the last few years, and this generosity has saved the club thousands of dollars, directly benefiting the girls and boys.”
Moon River Pool Care visits Jenkins Athletic Club every Thursday to help clean the community pool, complete any projects on the equipment and provide chemicals to the club during busy months. Because of the ongoing donations of service and resources, the club is now better positioned to serve the next generation by promoting health, teamwork and confidence through its pool programs.
“I strongly believe in what Jenkins Athletic Club is doing for young people,” said Bratianu. “It is an honor to play a part in strengthening our community and giving the children more opportunities to grow, learn and thrive in a safe, clean swimming pool.”

The Jenkins Athletic Club is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that serves as a comprehensive youth athletics center for both girls and boys. Its mission is to provide safe and accessible athletic facilities and youth programs for the girls and boys of Savannah. Over 500 girls and boys walk the halls and enjoy the facilities on any given week at the Jenkins Athletic Club, enjoying sports from t-ball to basketball, swimming, volleyball, flag football and more.
