SAVANNAH, GA – Savannah Classical Academy (SCA) announces another excellent year for the charter school as the 2025 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) scores are released by The Georgia Department of Education. SCA average scores consistently outperformed Chatham County schools as well as the overall scores for the state of Georgia for all grade bands- elementary, middle and high school.

Based on these CCRPI accountability scores regarding SCA students’ mastery of core content, SCA elementary ranks 2nd of 25 elementary schools in Chatham County, SCA middle school ranks 1st of 22 middle schools in Chatham County, and SCA high school ranks 2nd out of 13 high schools in Chatham County. Out of all 70 Chatham County schools, SCA elementary ranks 6th, middle school ranks 2nd, and high school ranks 4th. This achievement is especially meaningful as there is no academic performance requirement to enroll in SCA, which is open and free to any student residing in Chatham County whose family applies through the school lottery.
The Department of Education uses a calculation that reflects the opportunities schools offer students – from fine arts to career education – rather than focusing strictly on standardized test scores. Comparing scoring against local and state averages demonstrates a significant difference between SCA results and other schools’ average scores. In elementary schools’ content mastery SCA scored 90 compared to 56.4 locally and 68 in the state; in middle schools’ content mastery SCA scored 98.1 compared to 48.1 locally and 65.6 in the state and in high school SCA scored 92.1 compared to 54.9 locally and 69.2 in the state.
“Savannah Classical Academy’s performance on the 2025 CCRPI is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and high expectations shared by our students, faculty, and families. Outscoring both the county school system and the state reflects our unwavering commitment to an educational model that prioritizes academic excellence, strong character, and a supportive learning environment for every child,” said SCA CEO Barry Lollis. “SCA is a leading asset to our community and a best choice for families. While we are proud of these results, we are equally motivated to continue raising the bar and ensuring that every student at SCA is equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their pursuits after graduation.”
SCA is a K-12 school which is open to all students residing in Chatham County, is funded by the public education system but retains a charter that allows it to operate autonomously under a board of parents and community members. It is the philosophy of Savannah Classical Academy that all students benefit from a rigorous, content-rich, educational program that develops academic potential and personal character. The school provides an environment that fosters academic excellence through the habits of thoroughness, the willingness to work, and the perseverance to complete difficult tasks. Through a defined Classical curriculum, students are prepared to become active, responsible citizens of their community.
